The Concept of Lasting Peace

What a new world it would be,
when all weapons could be lowered,
molten iron turned slides
and knives made child safe,
that probably wouldn’t be necessary.
Violence might not be people’s last resort
even when there wasn’t this shame
and punishment attached to it.
But cruelty is sometimes necessary,
reactionary,
culminating in violence,
Violence levels the playing field of influence.
Even god emperors are made of flesh
people can be killed with a strong smack on the head.
Control always demands someone in control-
Would you stand up against the Nazi Regime
or the Rise of the Absolute Equalizing Left
and throw your life,
your body at them?
Before they take your right
of living however you want away
which is on its best days
an unforgiving,
discipline demanding life?
